US Flag Nail Art

Hi my friends,

Hope you all are having a happy day. We draw inspiration from our surroundings all the time, from people, from nature, from media and what not. The most creative ideas arise out of these inspirations and I would like to share with you girls one such DIY nail art that I think is totally cool. Nail arts needn’t be floral designs all the time. And what am I influenced by now? It’s the US flag J. Let me show you step by step how to go about it.

Material needed:
·         White, red and blue nail paints
·         Dotting tool or paint brush
·         Remover
·         Q-tips
How to make the nail art:

1) Clean your nails off any old nail colors with remover and start fresh. It is always good to wipe your nails with remover even if you don’t have an old color on. This removes residual oils and makes the nail color stay longer.

2) Paint all nails (except the ring finger nail) with white color.

3) Take your brush or dotting tool and draw horizontal stripes with red color. You may use thinly cut cello tapes and paste them at regular intervals. (Shown in picture).

Paint red all over. Let it dry for a few seconds and then remove the tapes. This gives perfectly straight lines. But this process takes time and can get messy. So I have drawn the stripes with a bobby pin.

4) Now for the ring finger nail, use a dark blue nail color.

5) Using a dotting tool, make white dots all over. We don’t want an exact replica of the flag by making stars; it will only drive you crazy :P

6) Use a top coat to seal the colors in place.
That’s really it. A super easy and different nail art that you should give a try. It goes well with any western outfit. Make your statement with this nail art and catch everyone’s attention J

Beginner's Guide to Skin Care

Hi friends,

Skin is the index of our state of mind and health. It reflects upon your well being and cleanliness. Pampering your skin is the first and foremost thing that you should make mandatory in order to have a healthy looking skin.

To keep your skin clean and glowing, never forget the basic steps you need to take for it. CTM routine, as they say, includes cleansing, toning and moisturizing. I know many girls who think that just washing their skin with soap will do. But that is totally wrong. There is a reason why each step is being emphasized.

Cleansing:
Well, you first need to clean your skin off any impurities or dirt. Our skin is continuously being exposed to dust and pollution. So make sure you get yourself a good cleanser. A good one must get rid of all the grime without stripping the skin off its moisture. Choose a cleanser or face wash according to your skin type otherwise it will only do more harm than good. Use warm water preferably to wash as this will open  your pores and helps in removing the dirt completely.

Toning:
This step is often neglected by most of the girls. Cleansing opens up the pores and you definitely want to close it or else more dirt will get accumulated there. It will also take away any residual impurities that were left out by the cleanser. Using a toner also helps in controlling the oiliness of the face.

Moisturizing:
The skin remains soft and supple only when it hydrated and moisturized. There is a high chance that your face wash or toner deprives your skin of its moisture. So invest in a aqua based moisturizer to take care of your skin's needs. Even oily skinned girls can never skip it since oil is different from 'moisture'. Do not confuse the two. There are a lot of oil free moisturizer options too.

Pamper your skin and feel the difference ! :)
